Mission.
History
The mission of the North Carolina Association of Social and Human Services Education is to unite and empower social and human services educators in North Carolina by fostering collaboration, professional development, and advocacy to create meaningful educational experiences that positively impact students and advance careers in social and human services.
The North Carolina Association of Social and Human Services Education began as the North Carolina Organization for Human Services. It was started by a group of dedicated Human Services Technology at community colleges across North Carolina in order to better collaborate and to provide professional development opportunities for the students in their programs. Additionally, the North Carolina Organization for Human Services was loosely affiliated with the Southern Organization for Human Services as well the National Organization for Human Services.

Due to some reorganization at the national level and to changing priorities locally, the executive board for the North Carolina Organization for Human Services met in October of 2024 and decided to rebrand the organization. After three days of meetings, the organization had a new name, mission, bylaws, and executive board.

It is the organization's hope that the our new look and purpose will help to inspire membership and to have a positive impact on social and human services education and opportunities state-wide.
